East Africa’s First Real Soap Coming soon

I intensely dislike Soap Operas – revise that: I hate soap operas. I do not understand why tele-novellas are popular in this region. In fact, I tend to feel my braincells dying every time I watch them. But, my friend Alison Ngibuini has been working on one that I have a feeling is a real winner. Finally, something that may end up being more in tune with our lives in East Africa – something that is a little realistic – and where the lips move along with the words!

Next week, I’ll be going to the set, (they are actually doing them in a real neighbourhood, I hear), to see for myself. Meanwhile, why don’t you take a look at the preview.

I am first an foremost a writer who cares deeply about the world. I enjoy stories - especially history for its rich tapestry of stories of people's lives interwoven intricately in failures and victories. I care so deeply about the world that I also spend much of my time and energy trying to make it better in some way.
