East Africa’s First Real Soap Coming soon

I intensely dislike Soap Operas – revise that: I hate soap operas. I do not understand why tele-novellas are popular in this region. In fact, I tend to feel my braincells dying every time I watch them. But, my friend Alison Ngibuini has been working on one that I have a feeling is a real winner. Finally, something that may end up being more in tune with our lives in East Africa – something that is a little realistic – and where the lips move along with the words!

Next week, I’ll be going to the set, (they are actually doing them in a real neighbourhood, I hear), to see for myself. Meanwhile, why don’t you take a look at the preview.

I am a writer first and foremost. I am passionate about social entrepreneurship, which I define by finding ways to innovate the world’s processes to make life better for people – whether in business or in the non-profit sector. I am professionally involved at the Open Institute, Thellesi Co and various agricultural ventures.
